We love bragging about how durable and versatile our vehicles are here at Land Rover Houston North, so when three Range Rover Hybrids conquered 10,472 miles of some of the most unforgiving roads in the world we of course had to share.

The roads these three hybrid SUV's journeyed on are nothing like anything you will ever see here in the Houston, Texas region.  For 53 days the Range Rovers and their drivers battled mountains and valleys and temperatures that ranged from -10 to 43 degrees Celsius.  While the roads at the beginning of the trip in Europe were more forgiving, as they marched onward towards their final destination in Mumbai, India the path became a little less modern and outlined.

Starting in the Land Rover home of Solihull, UK the three vehicles crossed two continents and thirteen countries.  Powered by a 3.0-liter TDV6 engine that was paired with 35 kW electric motors, the hybrids achieved some stunning fuel efficiency numbers.  They did this while not sacrificing any of the classic durability and off-road capabilities that the brands vehicles have historically been known for.

Only minor hiccups marked the journey to India, with a few cracked windshields and punctured tires slowing down the trip, but this would be expected of any vehicle on the roads passed.

If you can't tell we are proud of our three Range Rover Hybrids, and we look forward to seeing these vehicles enter production and eventually join our showroom and inventory of new Land Rover's SUV's.
