BAR stands for Ben Ainslie Racing, a premier sailing team from Great Britain headed by Sir Ben Ainslie. Ainslie is a gifted sailor, making Olympic history when he won five consecutive medals (the last four of them gold) between the years 1996-2012. Ainslie launched the BAR team in 2014, with the hope of winning the next America's Cup race.
In 2015, BAR became Land Rover Bar when Land Rover became the team's exclusive innovation partner, dedicated to aiding in the development of any possible technology that can help the team's catamaran function optimally.
