If you have ever been in the market for a highly capable SUV, you've likely also needed its towing capabilities for business or pleasure. While you already may know that the Discovery Sport is capable of towing a boat, did you know it's also capable of towing a 100 pound train? A train. We didn't either.
Take a look at the video above to see what we're referring to.
"The stunt was something of a re-creation of the feat the same company achieved in 1989 when the first-generation Discovery pulled a train of cars in Plymouth, UK," reports the staff at Auto Blog. "Only this time Land Rover did without the Disco I's low-range gearbox. Instead, the 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel engine (which we don't get in the US), rated at 177 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque, is mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission, and assisted by high-tech gadgetry including semi-autonomous All Terrain Progress Control and Tow Assist systems."
While we can venture a guess that you won't need to tow a train anytime soon, if you're looking for capability, luxury, high-tech features and ample cargo space, you should come visit our showroom for a test drive in the 2016 Discovery Sport.
